Welcome to the 106th annual meeting, and dinner event, of the Columbia County Association in the City of New York. We are pleased to be meeting once again at the historic Gallagher’s Restaurant and enjoying the special atmosphere and fine food which is always provided. Tonight is the occasion for us to take a break from our busy schedules and enjoy an evening of fine food and leisurely conversation with our friends. This has been the tradition of our organization, to bring friends from Columbia County and New York City together for a memorable evening.
Tonight we are pleased to honor Richard Koskey from Claverack, who represents all that is good about Columbia County. One cannot understate the impact Mr. Koskey has had on Columbia County through his tireless efforts and the numerous offices he has held throughout the years. He was instrumental in forming the Columbia Economic Development Corporation, served on the hospital board during its rough times, helped form the Claverack Water District, all while running a successful accounting practice. He has invested in numerous local businesses which contribute extensively to the economic well being of the County. In addition, Mr. Koskey has been blessed with an outstanding family, who also contribute to the well being of Columbia County. Tonight you will be hearing much more about the accomplishments of Mr. Koskey, who is extremely deserving of this honor.
It has been my pleasure to serve as the Association President for the last year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Board of Directors and especially Carol Novack, Jim Campion, and Tom Daus for doing the heavy lifting for tonight’s events.
Let us tonight remember the history of the organization and take the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and to share memories and laughs with our friends.
